GROUPS / ACTIVITIES AT ST MARY’S
All of the following activities are available at St Mary’s Parish during the year.
Children’s Play Group - for pre-schoolers and their care givers each Monday from 10am to midday—Fun and educational for the little ones and friendship for the caregivers.
Mainly Music - Very popular with little ones and their care givers. Fun time with a Christian music programme followed by morning tea and play time for the children and fellowship for the adults. Each Friday morning at 9.30am.
Indoor Bowls - meet each Tuesday in the parish hall from 7.30 to 10.pm.
Craft/Games Group - meet each Wednesday morning from 10am to midday. Lots of different crafts are catered for and this is a very friendly group as well as card games.
English Conversation Classes - for those with English as their second language we help give them English conversation skills on Tuesdays 1.15 to 2.45pm, in the parish house.
Catholic Women’s League group - meets fortnightly on a Tuesday from 10am to 11.45am in the parish house meeting room.
St Vincent de Paul group - meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month in the parish house meeting room at 10am. Among other things SVDP arranged a ‘Happy Hour’ on the last Friday of the month for senior citizens.
Legion of Mary - Meets every Saturday in the parish house/children's meeting room at 4pm.
Young Adult Group - They meet fortnightly alternating with a social outing and a spiritual/formation Meeting - more information from the office.
- Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament - Each Friday from immediately after the 9.15am Mass through to 5.00pm.
- Youth For Family & Life - YFL is a family ministry and aims to promote spiritual development of youth ages 13-19 years.
Meetings fortnightly in the parish hall for prayer, singing and fellowship.
We also have very active Music Group and Choir and welcome accomplished musicians and singers. Please contact the office if you would like to join this happy team 480 7357.
Naturally, we run Sacramental preparation groups for Confirmation and First Holy Communion on a yearly basis, as well as RCIA and RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Children) for those wanting to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church. We have bi-monthly Baptism preparation courses and Adult Education Programmes. We will be organizing both a Men’s and Ladies Retreat among many other things.
