Great News!
Our ‘adopted seminarian’, Larry Rustia, has applied to Bishop Pat Dunn to be ordained Deacon for the Auckland Diocese. Bishop Pat was pleased to accept his request and will ordain Larry as Deacon at the 10.30am Mass on Sunday 3rd October here at St Mary’s. More details later. Please remember Larry in your prayers as he continues to journey towards his ordination.
New Portico
As you can see, the construction work for our new Portico is progressing, despite the weather and some difficulties! There is access to the children’s room and choir loft from the interior of
the church. We are sorry for any inconvenience!

Petition To Sign
The Liquor Store on Onewa Road (next to the flower shop, opposite the church), are applying for an extended licence to open from 7am to midnight Monday to Saturday and 7am to 11pm on Sundays! We do not think this is acceptable in this area with 3 schools, 2 Day care Centres, De Paul House facility, 3 churches and 2 Rest Homes - If you agree please sign the petition available in church today.
Children's Liturgy
Parents please note that these classes are aimed at 4 to 8 year olds, children younger than this must be accompanied by a parent so that classes are not disrupted. We can always do with more helpers, training will be given - Please contact the office by phoning 480 7357
Children's Room In The Church
Please note that this room is meant to be for Babies, our very young children and their Caregiver. The room is usually very full especially at the 10.30am Mass .please , if you have older children sit with them in the “body” of the church, ensuring room for the little ones in their room!
Are you interested?
In joining our hospitality group - it’s not difficult, nor demanding, and great fun! you would go on a  list of volunteers to help out in the parish hall for any morning teas or lunches etc. Please call the office 480 7357.
Any One for Tennis?
St Mary’s Parish Tennis Club will be running again on a Monday for the summer school terms. If your child is interested in having some tennis Coaching please contact Helen Clarkson on 480 1752 or email hjclarkson@xtra.co.nz for more details. Adult lessons are also available.

Baptism Preparation Course
If you have a baby or are expecting a baby and requiring baptism, the next preparation course will be on Mon. 27th & Wed. 29th Sept - ph:480 7357
Life In The Spirit Seminar
For six Wednesdays from 13 October 2010. In the parish hall 7.30 to 9pm Mark your diaries/calendars. More info later.
Sacramental Program 2010/2011
If you have a child who is 8 years old (or older) and he/she has not been Confirmed or made their First Holy Communion, then it may be the right time for you to enrol now. You will need to phone Marianne at the parish office to make an appointment. If your child/ren was not Baptised at St Mary’s then you need to bring a copy of the Baptismal Certificate to your appointment. read more...
