/\Welcome!

2010/11 Sacramental Programme

We hope this journey towards the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and Holy Communion will be a time for you and your children to enrich your faith formation. We have expectations that parents, and hopefully families, will actively involve themselves in the children’s preparation and help to make the whole process a real expression of community welcoming and belonging.

Aims and Expectations

  • There are four classes for each sacrament. Reconciliation will run over the month of November, Confirmation will be held in April 2011 and Holy Communion will run over the month of May/June 2011. It is essential that you attend all four classes for each sacrament. You need to contact the parish office if your child is ill.

  • The classes start promptly at 9.40 am to 10.25am at St Mary’s school. This allows you to attend either the 8.30am mass or 10.30am mass.

  • It is compulsory that both parents and children attend the class. Full participation is encouraged.

  • There will be a family work book for each sacrament– we ask you to work through it with your child, spending time doing the homework activities.

  • There will be an additional practice for each sacrament, it is essential that you attend these practices. – Please see the programme sheet for the dates.

  • There are two compulsory adult formation afternoons for this programme. The first one will be held on Saturday 9 October at 1.30pm. This will look at the sacramental of reconciliation. In March 2011 there will be a session on the liturgy of the Mass

  • The total cost of the sacramental programme is $40 ( This includes resources and a levy fee for the photographer)

We look forward to journeying with you and your child as they prepare for the sacraments.
